Name: Dreams for Schools
Tagline: Programming the Future
Dreams for Schools was established to inspire, create and educate students to be STEM literate with hard and soft skills needed to become the critical thinkers, creative leaders and technologists of tomorrow. Dreams for Schools is a 501(c)(3) that oversees programs and initiatives that contribute to educating youth about Science, Technology, Engineering & Math fields. The main outreach program of the organization is the AppJam+ initiative. Their mission is to inspire, create and educate students to be STEM literate with hard and soft skills needed to become the critical thinkers, creative leaders and technologists of tomorrow.
The biggest overarching goal of DFS is growth, process clean up and optimization, and strengthening of their brand story. Their goal is to differentiate between other STEM education program logos (iDTech / Project Lead The Way). Because AppJam+ is their primary educational program, the logo redesign must relate visually (color, type, style) to AppJam+ Logo. Logo mark must be able to visually inform 3 distinct program types (see below)
Parents of middle-schoolers / high-schoolers
Educators / Teachers
Donors / Corporate Sponsors
Dreams for Schools is about beginnings. It’s the beginnings of new passions, curiosities, and a renewed interest for learning. We wanted to reflect that with the angle brackets around a cloud, a symbol of dreaming and unlimited possibility.
Programming language works much like the language we write. Instead of capitalization and periods to mark the beginning and end, programming uses “<>” and “</>.”
Since Dreams for Schools impacts a variety of audiences, we wanted a logo design that accomplished the following:
Visually communicates the beginning of a bright future
Refers back to name of the organization with the cloud
Reflects a visual association with the AppJam+ program logo through color and typography. AppJam+ currently stands alone as its own program.
Represents youth education and an association with technology
