About Me

My name is Lucy Ruth Darby. My father calls me Loop.

I'm a 20-something community college student living in Southern California.

Marta Darby, professional blogger, is the author of My Big, Fat Cuban Family, a lifestyle blog about her experiences as a Cuban-American, homeschooling her kids, cooking amazing food and creating a beautiful home.

She is also my mama.

Because of her, I eventually (though stubbornly) discovered my love of photography and all things picture-related, I developed a passion for writing and I learned how to "document the magic."

I was homeschooled since the 4th grade, spent one semester at the Orange County High School of the Arts (for Creative Writing), and I graduated high school through an independent study program.

I learned how to teach myself whatever I wanted. Music, art, design, photography, crafty things... you name it, I learned it. I slowly became an amateur autodidact.

I'm currently employed as a stagehand by the theatre department at my local college. I love theatre and the performing arts, having also founded the improv team at my high school. I've been on the stage and behind it.

I'm also a Leo.

So I hope you enjoy reading about my adventures as much as I enjoy writing them.

Love, Loop
