Do you know how freaking hard it is to find affordable rent in Orange County?
If you're reading this and you live in Orange County, then ya. Ya feel me.
I got approved for my very first apartment today.
To be clear, that doesn't mean much. My things aren't packed and I'm still running the numbers. But at least they like me and put a big, fat smiley-face sticker on my credit history.
I've been looking at places since March. Just the "looking" has been overwhelming my desktop and search history with information and details. Fridge rentals! Renter's insurance! Co-signers! Vaulted ceilings! Pet deposits!
(Let's get real. Unless my cat intends to pay her own $45/month, she's staying home. Sorry, chica.)
Something affordable? Near impossible. Close to my workplace? Not a chance. Plenty of space? Lol. Out loud.
...my own space?
Change is terrifying and numbers are intimidating, but at the end of the day it's a small-and-totally-overpriced space I can call my own.
So three cheers for the broke and lonely!
